Help an Angel Ridge Angel

Our Outreach Program

At Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, part of our mission is to provide outreach to other rescue groups and private rescuers. We provide food, blankets, towels, and other items to these groups and rescuers who are in need. We believe that we are fulfilling our mission to help cats and kittens through our program of gathering donations of cat food and litter and donating them to feline caregivers and rescuers in the greatest need.

Currently, we are providing food and litter on a weekly basis, to an elderly couple who help 300 cats on their acreage, and a rescuer confined to a wheelchair who cares for over 70 cats. We also provide food and litter to an elderly gentlemen who cares for over forty cats in a small building on his property, and we provide food regularly to the large colony of cats who live at the Washington Fairgrounds.

Many shelters in Pennsylvania and surrounding states have euthanasia rates as high as 85%. Healthy and adoptable animals are euthanized for lack of space to house them or funds to provide food and veterinary care. Handicapped and elderly animals are the first ones on the list to be euthanized. Angel Ridge Animal Rescue assists hundreds of these animals each year by taking them into our facility and adopting them into wonderful homes. These animals realize that they have been saved and are the most loving and grateful of companions.

In many cases, shelters and rescue groups ask for our professional assistance and expertise to deal with some of the problems and projects which they encounter.
