Many of our angels are permanent residents of Angel Ridge Animal Rescue. These are animals that are handicapped or very old. They would love to have their very own Guardian Angel. You can become a Guardian Angel to one of our little angels by sponsoring their care. For an annual sponsorship gift of $200/year, you can become an Angel Ridge Animal Rescue Guardian Angel. Your gift will be used to provide food and basic veterinary care for one of our deserving animals. Your sponsorship can be paid at one time or in quarterly gifts of $50. If you choose to send your gift each quarter, we will send you a reminder postcard.
Each Guardian Angel will receive a small, framed picture of their little angel. Our newsletter, which you will also receive, will keep you posted on their activities at Angel Ridge.

Angel Ridge Animal Rescue is assisting in the placement of about 40 cats that were being cared for by a Washington, PA woman who passed away. |
Ariel

Draft horses Camael and Ariel came to us in December. They had been seized from an abuser in August and had been in a foster barn. Camael was starved and was more than 500 pounds underweight when she was rescued.
Ariel’s leg will never be a normal size. It is amazing how beautifully she can walk and run with her handicapped leg. Her skin is stretched so incredibly on the leg however, that even a small cut can trigger a life-threatening infection. We must do our best to make this leg smaller.

Barry

Barry - My name is Barry. I am a large adult blind Rottweiler/Hound mix. My blindness does not stop me from getting around well. I am active and I get along very well with the other dogs here at Angel Ridge. I am so happy here, but it would be wonderful if you would consider adopting me and taking me home to a forever home, but I would like to have a Guardian Angel too |
Camael

Camael, our sweet “Cami,” needed surgery right away. In late January, we transported Cami to Ohio State University. This gentle giant, our 1800 lb.. angel, was patient and grateful in spite of the painful surgery. She is recovering in our barn and she will undergo chemotherapy. She has had the very best veterinary care. Dr. Jeff Bissett, our equine veterinarian, should be commended for his dedication and competence. Ariel’s treatment for her enlarged leg has been a diffi cult one. Dr. Bissett recommended a lasik and steroid protocol as a first step, but more measures are needed, such as methods of hydrotherapy. |
Cecil

My name is Cecil. I am a six year old Dalmatian. I really enjoy all the attention I am getting here at Angel Ridge, but I would love to have a family of my own to give me attention. |

My name is Domino. I am a blind Dalmatian. I became blind several years ago from a hereditary problem with my eyes. I have learned to adjust very well because I have worked on making my other senses better. I know how to get around my big yard at Angel Ridge. I am very smart and would be a gentle and loving dog for just the right family. Many people love me and want me to have a home of my own. Until I find a home of my own, I would love to have a Guardian Angel.

Mabel

My name is Mabel. I am a quiet coonhound that has had a hard and lonely life. I was kept in a very small wire cage most of the time. I was allowed out to hunt with my guardian. I was not very good at hunting. I pretended that I did not understand what was expected of me because I did not want to see other creatures hurt and killed. My guardian took me to a high kill shelter and he did not care what happened to me. Lucky for me that some very kind people at the shelter liked me a lot and told me about Angel Ridge. Within a few days I arrived at Angel Ridge Animal Rescue. I had never walked on a floor before, so I had to be carried some that first day. There are many beds and blankets that we dogs can get comfy on. I had some sores and scars on my back end from the sharp wires that jabbed me in my small cage. This is a new and wonderful life for me. I am waiting for that magical day when I meet that special family that will love me, the coonhound full of love. Having a Guardian Angel would make me very happy. |
Newt

My name is Newt. I am a four year old shepherd mix. I love to get lots of attention.
|
Prince

My name is Prince. I am a shepherd mix. I was tied to a tree most of my life and I had no place to run and play. I am much happier here where I have room to run and other dogs to play with. I am a gentle dog with good manners. Please come and meet me! |
Reba

Scooby Doo

My name is Scooby Doo. I came to Angel Ridge with my brother Brutis. Our guardian passed away and we were left in the house all alone. There was no family to take us in. A kind person called Angel Ridge and asked them to care for us. This is a place where we are well cared for and can stretch our legs. We still have lots of love to give and would love a home of our own again. For now, we are hoping to have our very own Guardian Angel.

|
Taz

My name is Taz. I am a beagle-setter mix. Before I came to Angel Ridge, I was tied to my dog house all the time. The neighborhood children teased me and threw stones at me. I am a grateful and loving dog, though, waiting for an adult family of my own. Angel Ridge is now my home and I am loved and get many treats. I really could use a Guardian Angel.
|
Thanny

My name is Thanny. I am a thoroughbred in my mid-twenties. I was once a racehorse and then my life changed. Thirteen horses and I were abused and neglected. I was lucky because Angel Ridge Animal Rescue agreed to take me. I now live comfortably on the farm with no worries and I shall live happily ever after here.
